    Product Introduction

    Sesame pigment is a white crystalline solid, dl-type and d-type, physical states are crystal and needle form; d-type, needle crystal (ethanol), melting point 122~123℃, rotation [α] D20 + 64.5 (c=1.75, chloroform). The dl-type, crystalline (ethanol), with a melting point of 125 to 126℃. Natural sesamin is right-handed, easily soluble in chloroform, benzene, acetic acid, acetone, slightly soluble in diethyl ether and petroleum ether. Sesamin is a fat-soluble substance, soluble in all kinds of oils. Under acidic conditions, sesamin is prone to hydrolysis and turns into pine fat phenol, which has strong antioxidant activity.

    There is a class of xylin compounds (lignan) in nature, they have 2,6-diaryl-3,7-dioxygen diocycoctane structure, there are dozens of these compounds, the common substituent on the benzene ring is mostly hydroxyl or methoxy etherification groups. Sesame pigment (sesamin) is one of lignans (also called lignans) compounds, a lipid-soluble phenol compounds.

    Sesame is the most abundant lignin extracted from sesame or sesame seeds and sesame oil. Sesamin has been used as a reference standard to study the activity of the cytochrome P450 enzyme sesamin synthase in the conversion of rosin gin to sesamin. Sesamin is a lignin found in Chinese plants and sesame oil. It is used as a supplement for dietary weight loss, but there is no controlled study on its practical benefits. The major metabolite of sesamin is enterolactone, which has an elimination half-life of less than 6 hours. Both sesame seed oil and sesame seed forest element are trace components contained in sesame oil, accounting for only 0.14% of the quality of sesame oil, on average.

    Product Function

    (1) Antioxidant effects
    Sesame hormone can remove too many peroxides, hydroxyl radicals and organic free radicals in the body. The production and elimination of oxygen free radicals in the human body are in a relatively balanced way. If this balance is broken, many diseases will follow. It is found that sesamin can improve the activity of free radical scavenging enzymes, inhibit the oxidative stress response, reduce the generation of oxygen free radicals, and play a protective role in the target organs. In in vitro antioxidant experiments, it was found that sesamin showed better antioxidant capacity to DPPH radical, hydroxyl radical, superoxide anion radical and ABTS radical, which is close to the antioxidant performance of the common antioxidant VC and is a better antioxidant.

    (2) Anti-inflammatory effects
    Inflammation is defined as a series of defense responses occurring in body tissues with vascular system to injury factors. Inflammation can affect the proliferation, metabolism and other physiological activities of cells, leading to pathological changes in human tissues. Inflammation also often causes the number and function of osteoclasts, resulting in excessive bone absorption and leading to the occurrence of many inflammatory osteolytic diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis, infectious osteolysis, aseptic loosening of joint prosthesis, periodontitis and so on. It was found that sesamin can inhibit osteoclast differentiation and bone resorption, reduce the production of proinflammatory cytokines, inhibit osteoclast differentiation, and reduce LPS-induced osteolysis. The specific mechanism may be that sesamin inhibits osteoclast differentiation and specific gene expression by inhibiting ERK and NF- κ B signaling pathways. Therefore, sesamin may be a potential treatment for inflammatory osteolysis.

    (3) The effect of lowering cholesterol
    serum triglyceride and increased cholesterol is an important factor in inducing atherosclerosis and cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. In the experiment of the effect of sesamin on blood glucose and vascular remodeling in rats, we found that sesamin had blood lipid effect, and its mechanism was related to sesamin in improving lipase activity, increasing fat metabolism and reducing fat deposition. In the clinical trial of sesamin in hypercholesterolemic population, serum total cholesterol decreased by 8.5%, low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) decreased by 14%, and high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) increased by 4%, close to that of anti-lipidemic drugs and safe and had no side effects.

    (4) Protect the liver
    The metabolism of sesamin is mainly performed in the liver. Zhamin can regulate the activity of metabolic enzymes of alcohol and fat, promote ethanol metabolism, promote the oxidation of fatty acid β, so as to reduce the damage of ethanol to the liver and the accumulation of fat in the liver.

    (5) Antihypertensive effect
    Sesamin can increase the concentration of NO in the human venous endothelial cells and inhibit the concentration of ET-1 in the endothelial cells, thus inhibiting and regulating the increase of blood pressure. In addition, sesamin can significantly improve the hemodynamics in renal hypertensive rats, and the mechanism may be related to its antioxidant and elevated myocardial NO to reduce ET-1.
