Matrine, also known as matricine, is an alkaloid extracted from the roots, stems and fruits of the leguminous plant Sophora flavescens by organic solvents such as ethanol. It belongs to the lupine alkaloids, a derivative of quinolizidine. It has the characteristics of specificity and naturalness. It can be quickly decomposed in nature, and the final products are carbon dioxide and water. It is a green and environmentally friendly insecticide. Oxymatrine has a strong contact killing effect on cabbage worms, yellow palm moths and elm blue leaf beetles, and the control effect on peach aphids, radish, pear aphids, and wheat aphids is more than 90%. Matrine has obvious control effects on young larvae of diamondback moth and tea black moth. Matrine can prevent and control cabbage worms, cabbage aphids, melon aphids, borers, ladybugs, beet armyworms, yellow-striped flea beetles, diamondback moths, blue leaf moths, leek maggots on vegetables, caterpillars, boat caterpillars, caterpillars, earwigs, red spider wax scales, beetles, stink bugs, etc. on fruit trees, and various pests such as armyworms, wheat midges, and locusts on grain crops.
