What is baicalin powder?
Baicalin powder is a natural active ingredient extracted from the dried root of Scutellaria baicalensis (a plant of the Lamiaceae family). It belongs to the flavonoid class. Its chemical formula is C₂₁H₁₈O₁₁, its molecular weight is 446.36, and it appears as a pale yellow powder with a bitter taste. It is the main active ingredient in Scutellaria baicalensis, accounting for approximately 9-14% of the plant's total flavonoids.

What is baicalin used for?
Anti-inflammatory and Antibacterial:
It inhibits the release of inflammatory factors (such as TNF-α and IL-6), reduces tissue inflammation, and is effective against conditions such as bronchitis and tonsillitis. It has significant inhibitory effects on Gram-positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus.
Hepatoprotective:
Baicalin powder reduces transaminase (ALT and AST) levels, inhibits hepatocyte apoptosis, and promotes liver detoxification. It has a protective effect against alcoholic and drug-induced liver damage.
